Speaker Brands
Speaker Brands
Generally, I am not that excited about music or speaker brands.
The average customer almost always gets a similar product, irrespective who makes it.
It is unlikely that the main-stream low quality stereo made from Jo-Bloke will be that much inferior to the same product made by JVC, Samsung or Panasonic.
Yet, the price for the branded units will be higher.
What's more, the audio electronics seldom breaks.
There is less mechanical devices and more integrated circuitry in the modern audio configurations.
In reality, there is little possibility that your audio will fail within 5 or so years.
However, for the quality products the brands do make a difference.
This is particularly true for good speaker brands.
It takes a lot of experience to design top of the range amplifier speakers.
Even more so, the top quality studio monitor speaker require an engineering artist, not just a designer.
It is unlikely that the high sensitivity, high power speakers can be delivered by an average audio manufacturer.
There are many speaker brands which earned a good reputation. Some products like:
- Behringer speakers
- Genelec studios
- KRK studio monitors
- Mackie monitor speakers
- iPod speakers
- Apple speakers
are well respected in the music industry. The same applies to:
- Klipsch speakers
- Infinity speakers
- THX speakers
- Gemini speakers
