Outdoor Speakers
Outdoor speakers are essentially audio products which can withstand weather conditions.
Many manufacturers advertise their outdoor speakers as "all weather" compatible.
However, this is often (if not always) misleading.
Outdoor speakers will have the temperature, pressure and humidity range within which they can operate.
Thus, if you buy garden audio speakers for $70 then do not expect them to work at -30 Celsius.
Neither, they will work in the extreme hot weather.
Here, the electronics of the outdoor speakers (not just the casing) will limit the operating parameters.
Outdoor Speakers Installation
The best bet is to buy outdoor speakers which use swivel brackets. Alternatively, buy good quality outdoor speakers and match the pivoting brackets separately. Most outdoor speakers are weatherproof. This does not mean that these units can survive floods, scorching sun and the Arctic winter. Therefore, outdoor speakers should be sheltered as much as possible from the effects of weather. Alfresco or a patio are excellent choices for these products.
Outdoor Speakers Prices
We would not recommend to buy a high quality amplifier speaker for the outdoor use. Unless, you are a performer or a music organiser these expensive outdoor units will break your budget. For most of the outdoor applications you need a simple stereo speaker system which can sufficiently entertain guests in the noisy environment. The simple weatherproof outdoor speakers are ideal for this function. 60 watts universal outdoor speakers are all what you need for the application. They cost $70-$90 per pair and this often includes the swivel bracket. 100 watts outdoor speakers with a volume controller, brackets and plugs sell for around $240.
